Welcome. Here you can find therapy for tweens, teens, young adults, and parents. I’m glad you’re here. Let’s get started.

Hello. I’m Jessica. I am a licensed mental health counselor and child and family therapist. I have provided therapy for kids, teens, young adults, and parents for 15 years. I believe my role is to partner with my clients and families in the process of learning and healing. I respect that my clients know themselves best and work to reinforce their existing strengths (and possibly discover new ones!). I understand and strive to affirm each client’s/family’s culture and experience living in the world. I intend to create a space that is affirming of racial, gender, sexual, neurodivergent, and intersectional identities. Modalities I use include DBT and CBT and am IFS informed. I also like to use creative ways to engage clients including through play, art, and Narrative Therapy. I have worked with clients experiencing depression, PTSD, anxiety, substance use disorders, parenting and parent/child relational challenges, and general life transitions.

Services

  • Therapy for Tweens, Teens, and Young Adults

Childhood is marked by transitions. Each transition brings its unique sets of skills to master and interpersonal challenges. Effective therapy for tweens, teens, and young adults requires flexibility, creativity, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and developmental stages each stage brings. I tailor interventions to individual needs, promoting positive outcomes.

Caregiver participation is encouraged when indicated and consent is provided by the youth (13+).

  • Parent Coaching/Therapy for Adults

Parenting through every stage of our child’s development has its joys and challenges. Parent coaching can be beneficial for parents at various stages of their child's development, and it can address a wide range of concerns, from behavioral issues to communication challenges. I also love working with adults who are parents or caregivers who, like any adult, have numerous roles, values, and responsibilities. I provide a supportive and empowering approach to help adults and parents navigate the complexities of raising children, to stay regulated, understand and prioritize their needs, and maintain effective and meaningful relationships.

  • DBT Parent Coaching Group

Parenting through adolescence in particular can be bumpy and sometimes scary. Maybe you are struggling with having effective communication with your child. Maybe your teen is withdrawn, more irritable, and/or having bigger emotions than usual. Maybe your teen or young adult is engaging in risky behaviors. Some of these challenges are to be expected in adolescence and still, parents may find themselves wondering if there is cause for concern or if they are actually making things worse! If you are feeling scared, worried, confused, or just unsure how to support your child/teen/young adult, this parent coaching group can provide information, tools, support, and community to guide you through this time.

The DBT parent coaching group offers a structured and supportive environment for parents to develop and practice skills that can positively impact their parenting and family dynamics. The emphasis on mindfulness, distress tolerance, and effective communication can contribute to lasting improvements in the parent-child relationship. Learn more about DBT here
